Up Your Alley weekend started earlier than in previous years and featured more events.
Additionally, there were also more parties than ever before, including RUB at BeatBox, Bay of Pigs – the official party of the Up Your Alley Weekend, and the 10th anniversary of PLAY! - the official closing party and T-dance. This year’s fair was busier than ever, despite the less than stellar weather and with the few hours of sunshine we had, our leathermen partied hard in the streets – generating $10,000 additional in beverage sales over last year for Folsom Street Events.
The weekend’s events also included an amazing panel discussion by the Leathermen's Discussion Group which featured Race Bannon, Guy Baldwin, Gayle Rubin and Michael Thorn and attracted over 300 people.
And, finally, the contest winners from San Francisco's Next Top DJ
- Up Your Alley’s Edition were phenomenal. Brian Maier, Byron Bonsall and Russ Rich had everyone rocking and dancing...and, for the first time, the dance stage featured live demos and dancers.
Early indications, based on gate donations, are that attendance was up over last year - in excess of 10,000 people. The fetish community and their admirers are praised for their generosity in helping Folsom Street Events to continue to achieve their fundraising goals.
All of the early indicators are that everyone is GEARED UP for a great SF Leather Week and Folsom Street Fair!
